Considering the End of Architecture
Hello! Today, I would like to share an idea I’ve been contemplating about the end of architecture. As the issue of vacant houses becomes more serious, I feel it’s essential to design the end of architecture as well.
Focus on Danchi (Public Housing Complexes)
The focus of my attention is on danchi. Given the current situation where many danchi have vacant rooms, I came up with the idea of connecting adjacent vacant rooms to create a larger space. By repeating this process, I envision a somewhat bold future where the danchi itself eventually disappears.
Proposal for an Open Community Space
Instead of simply consolidating into one room, I think it’s interesting to create an open skeleton community space within the danchi. The idea is to transform the residential spaces into publicly accessible commercial areas, ultimately leading to a zero-emission scenario. This could potentially bring new vitality to the neighborhood.
Challenges and Possibilities
I understand that various challenges exist to make this idea a reality. However, I hope such proposals can provide new perspectives on the future of architecture and urban living.
In this blog, I will include photos of the entire danchi model and images of an office space model that connects rooms.
